Every year, millions of people around the world die from diseases which are preventable in nature. Many organizations and private individuals have been providing medical services in curing diseases in the affected parts of the world. However, less is being done in the area of preventive medicine. Medics Without Borders (MWB) is here to help provide preventive medicine to the masses around the globe by focusing on the training and dissemination of Emergency Medical Services and Technology in developing countries where such services and programs are non-existent. In medical circles, it is always said that preventive medicine is the best medicine. Yet prevention will never take place until people have been educated and trained to take good care of their health.

The following research done by Laurie Garret on "The Challenge of Global Health" underscores the need for EMS programs in combating health care crises in poor countries. (Reproduced with permission)
