About Us

Adomako Adjapong, Founder and President of MWB

Medics Without Borders is the brain child of a someone who wants to help the sick and the poor get access to affordable medical services and products. In developing countries where access to EMS programs are either inadequate or virtually absent, many people die prematurely in their homes or remote villages due to lack of access to pre-hospital and preventive medical care services and programs. The founder of MWB was born and raised in sub-Saharan Africa and he had first hand experience of what lack of adequate preventive and pre-hospital medical care can do to humans. According to his assessment, many lives can be saved if emergency medical services (EMS) and technology can be deployed to the people who live in rural and poor parts of the world. Millions of dollars devoted to curing diseases can also be saved annually if more attention is paid to preventive medicine.

Mission

The mission of Medics Without Borders (MWB) is to provide comprehensive, preventive medicine/primary health care, health education and emergency medical technology and services to care for the people in underserved communities in developing countries throughout the world.

Vision

Through MWB's international network of world-class volunteer medics, nurses, physician assistants, surgeons and other medical providers, the MWB's vision is to conduct humanitarian, educational, fellowship, and charitable activities in deploying preventive medicine and emergency medical technology in poor and developing nations and to create a sustainable infrastructure that encourages local capacity building and professional development in health promotion and longevity.
